I was fortunate enough to have a high school band director who clearly loved his job. Because of this, I decided during my freshman year in high school that I wanted to become a music teacher. Throughout my tenure as a music educator, I have taught elementary, middle, and high school students. I have also served on a wide variety of school improvement committees and discovered that I long to serve in a school leadership position. I still love what I do, but just as I felt destined to become a music teacher, I now feel destined to become a school administrator. I feel I have a lot to offer to help others navigate the constantly evolving field of education.
I am both creative and analytical. I exercise strong problem-solving skills, often seeking creative alternative solutions to address unique challenges. I also have the ability to see the "big picture" as well as the details that support the overarching idea. Furthermore, I am highly organized and efficient. I prioritize tasks to ensure that projects are completed in a timely fashion. Perhaps most importantly, I have strong interpersonal skills and take pride in my ability to cultivate positive relationships with others.
Outside of the school, I enjoy travelling. Québec, Costa Rica, and Paris have been some of my favorite destinations. I also enjoy cooking for company and spending time with my nieces and nephews (aka "my littles").
